Independence Day 2008 was busy and fun. We started it off by attending the local parade which is always followed by a big water fight. With fire engine hoses and water guns shooting from every direction, you have no chance of staying dry, it was welcome relief on a 103 degree July day though!
Later, we joined Cath, Freddy and (half) of their kids for dinner and then headed to the Stadium of Fire. We were thoroughly entertained by sky divers, military tributes and salutes, Glenn Beck, the Blue Man Group, and to Lauren, Ellie, & Lexi's delight, Miley Cyrus. I thought the biggest highlight was the firework show set to music. What a day - we didn't fall into bed until 1:00 a.m. and didn't feel one bit guilty sleeping in the next morning!
